  • "Effective" range in the weapon description seems to refer to bullet damage at range X and not so much the ability to hit a target.
I will look into this soon.

  • You should include a close up of the target's health indicator so we can see where he's being hit at various distances. You aimed all of the 260m shots at his torso, but the hit markers were consistently around his legs. Could account for the longer shots-to-kill at that range.

  • this is really strange that they call it a sniper rifle at effective range of 60m…

  • I'd be squirming too if I was a test dummy for a rifle. Haha the bugs in this game are either infuriating or funny.

  • Glad the Cutty red is in game for these tests

  • It could be scope or gun related. But for me it's more logical that render distance depends on the current state/settings on the server and it's also possible to be controlled by SSOCS. I think that can be easy confirmed if you bring both the sniper and the AR and test them both on same time/server/location. My guess is both guns will render at the same distance then.

  • There is Effective range, and there is Maximum range. Effective range of 5.56 is around 400 to 600 yards. Maximum range is close to 1,500 yards. You can hit a target at 1,500 yards, but it is probably not going to be a life threatening wound. That being said, the ranges are kind of ridiculous in SC.

  • Wonder if the DPS drops at longer ranges. Seems it took more shots to get kills.

  • If you want, you could evaluate both scopes on the same server, in order to exclude server aspects.
Great videos , and interesting findings!

  • Does the problem follow the scope? If you switch the 4x scope to the other rifle, can you see targets at 260m?

  • Good Catch…I guess X4 scopes for me only.

  • Effective range is the range at which it does the effective damage I think
